Import

How to import underlays in different formats:
Image – Insert a raster image such as BMP, PNG, JPEG
PDF – Import as raster image file
PDF – Import PDF content as editable drawing
DWG – AutoCAD® format

Import PDF

This video will give you a briefing on importing file. Learn how to import a raster based PDF and scale it ready to work on.

Import DWG

The basics of importing a DWG file from AutoCAD or other CAD software and how to scale it ready to work on.

Import Geometry

Learn how to import a vector based PDF that has geometric information and use it for your work efficiently

Import PDF Floor Plan as a Raster Image

Import a PDF as an image and calibrate it. Size it and trace over it to build up the whole structure of the model.

Import Geometry from PDF File (1/2)

Import geometry as vector based lines and polygons in the specified colour and line thickness

Import Geometry from PDF File (2/2)

After importing the layout, it can be scaled 1:1 Then real size walls and opening can be placed by specifying endpoints of lines

Import Floor Plan as Image File

We import an image file as a BMP, JPG, PNG or TIF. , scale to the correct size then trace over to build up our model.

Import IFC

Import and export IFC files and work with BIM data. This video explains how you do it in practice.

Style your Model

All about Styles. Creating, exporting, importing Styles.

Introduction to Styles

‘Styles’ are a collection of named properties and a related graphical representations that are applied to architectural elements such as walls and documentation elements such as dimensions.

Using Style Packages

Load a package of ‘Styles’ for a specific project or purpose. Packages can be loaded or detached on demand. Create your own office’s standard Style packages or ones that match methods of construction.

Importing and Exporting Styles

You can exchange your favourite styles, both project and user level styles, one by one or in a package to another computer. Importing styles takes just a few clicks

Creating a Custom Wall Style

Create a custom wall as new style in the current project and learn how to make it available for all projects

Dimensioning

Dimensioning tools for efficient documentation. Manual and auto-generated dimensions on layouts, sections, elevations, floor plans etc.

Adding Dimensions and Titles

Using dimension tools, adding level dimensions, adding length dimensions and text

Architectural Floor Plan

The architectural floor plan is an indispendable part of the documentation.

Wall Elevation View

In this video tutorial we prepare the textured wall elevation views in order to dimension them

Organized Modeling

Learn to efficiently organize your project, content, and models

How to Manage Large-Size Projects

During the life of large projects the file size can grow significantly. It worth spending some time to clean up the project in order to reduce project file size and incresae operational speeds

Project Organization

In order to make our project organized and easy to handle, it is necessary to manage the project properly. Let’s look at how.

Backup Archive

Automatic Backup archives and how NOT to lose your work!

Level of Detail and Volumes

In this tutorial video we talk about management of level of detail and volumes.

Live Building Elements

Wall styles coordinated by these story level parameters automatically apply to the elements created at different height levels. This means that if the floor height is changed, the wall heights will automatically follow the change

Storeys

Let’s see how we can work with storeys

Layer Management

The key to fast and fluent workflow is the efficient use of layers. Let’s look at one way to do it well.

Save Current Settings

Initial factory settings. How to override and restore them.

Environment Relocation

How to save your entire working environment and files so you can relocate to another computer without wasting time resetting everything.

Working with Multiple Buildings

Learn about the tricks and tips of working with multiple buildings in a project and how to organize them most effectively
